ClickBooth.com VS Affiliates, Part Two
Two weeks ago I published an article on the affiliate network ClickBooth entitled, “Companies That Can’t Take Bad Press, Part One; ClickBooth.com“. In short, it’s a story of a large company pushing around small bloggers and affiliates. Affiliates who are claiming they never received payment. But I’m not going to rehash that, just read it for yourself.
This week I’m pointing out the fact that it seems like ClickBooth would rather pay off a few people for good “reviews” instead of coming out with a statement of their own. Remember when I said this:
IdeaPlant.org Launches April 8th
Not everyone knows this, but Skewism.com is actually part of a larger network of sites owned by the ZenSix Media Group. On April 8th ZenSix Media is launching a new site by the name of IdeaPlant.org.
IdeaPlant is a membership based site, which will cost $20 a month and offer members access to daily ideas for new Web sites. From the site:
“The concept here is really quite simple; every weekday we publish new ideas and concepts to our members. We come up with an entire Web site idea, from domain name to ad campaign, and plant it into the minds of our members. If they see an idea they like, they’re free to run with it and make it their own.”
It’s kind of hard to describe the site in a single post, but let me just say this; for $20 a month it will be a steal. Only 25 members will be accepted. For more information, visit http://www.ideaplant.org
An Open Letter to Apple Fanboys
Dear Apple Fanboy,
Today I took a trip to my local Best Buy for no particular reason at all. I had a few hours to kill and decided to check out the latest and greatest electronic devices that I could never afford to buy. I’m not sure if it was me you were waiting for, or if you were simply roaming the computer section of the store like a lion patrolling its territory, but one things for sure; you were ready to attack.
Dean Kamen’s Miracle Water Distiller, It’s Not Going to Save the World
A few minutes ago I watched a video of inventor Dean Kamen (creator of the Segway) on The Colbert Report. He was showing off his latest invention, “Dean Kamen’s Miracle Water Distiller”. In the clip, Kamen claims his distiller can turn any liquid into water, without the use of chemicals, membranes, or filters. Watch the clip below…
Companies That Can’t Take Bad Press, Part One; ClickBooth.com
There’s just something about companies not being able to take bad press that drives me nuts. Especially companies with a reputation for screwing people over. It’s like punching someone in the face and then getting pissed at them for telling other people to stay away from you.
One such company that I’ve seen pushing people around lately is ClickBooth. They’re an advertising network with a reputation for not paying their affiliates. Searching for the term “clickbooth” on an affiliate forum like WickedFire reveals hundreds of complaints.
Scientology: Bat Shit Crazy
I’m a loyal fan of Digg.com, but sometimes those crazy geeks get a little carried away with their Internet wars. Personally, I feel if the Digg community put the same amount of effort into world hunger, as they do for things like a HD-DVD decryption key (a lot of good that does you now, eh?), then there would be a lot fewer starving children in the world.
I Have No Right to Complain, Because I Don’t Vote… Wrong.
It’s that time of year again when people everywhere ask me who I’m voting for and I reply with three little words: I don’t vote.
That’s the point I normally hear the other person say, “What?! You don’t vote? Not voting is the worst thing you can do! Apathy breaks Democracy. If you don’t vote, you have no right to complain about the country.” Then they try to convince me with some skewed metaphor.
Press Release From Hillary Clinton and Obama’s Response
Politics. Next to religion, no other topic spurs such skewism in an otherwise normal person. Today, Hillary Clinton put out a press release that focused on her wins and “Obama’s downward spiral” as she put it. After reading the release it’s obvious that either Clinton gets her news from an alternate reality, where her hopes and dreams grow on trees, where they are later fed to the rest of the world… or she’s a liar.
